The International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium 2015 (IGARSS 2015) was held from July 26th through July 31th, 2015, at the Convention Center in Milan, Italy. This is one of the most influential conferences in geoscience and remote sensing community, and attracted over 2000 academics and industry professionals from over 60 countries. Dr. Min Chen, Dr.Yuanxin Ye, Dr. Li Shen, and Jicheng Wang (graduate student) in our faculty attended the conference. Dr. Chen and Dr. Ye gave oral presentations titled “GGSOR: A GAUSSIAN-GAMMA-SHAPED BI-WINDOWS BASED DESCRIPTOR FOR OPTICAL AND SAR IMAGES MATCHING” and “AUTOMATC MATCHING OF OPTICAL AND SAR IMAGERY THROUGH SHAPE PROPERTY”, respectively. Dr. Shen and his graduate student Jicheng Wang gave a poster presentation titled “RESEARCH ON RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN REMOTE SENSING IMAGE QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE OF INTEREST POINT DETECTION”. IGARSS provides our faculty members and student an ideal forum for obtaining up-to-date information about the latest developments, exchanging ideas, identifying future trends and making networking with the international geoscience and remote sensing community.
IGARSS 2016 will be held in Beijing, China on 10-15 July 2016, and a large number of participants around the world will come to Beijing, offering a better opportunity for our international academic exchanges.
