At the invitation of Professor Tao Huang from the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering, Professor Franjo Sabo from the Institute of Waste Gas Disposal at the Rheinmann University of Applied Sciences, Germany and Professor Klaus Fischer from the Institute of Sanitary Engineering, Water Quality and Solid Waste Management at the University of Stuttgart on October 12-15, 2019 Come to our faculty for an exchange visit. Prof. Sabo and Prof. Fischer are members of Germany’s largest Association of Engineers and Scientists (VDI), Sewage Treatment Technology Association (ATV) and German Water Management Culture Construction Association (DVWK). They participated in the development of the Clean Air Committee of the VDI Association (KRdL) National and international standards in the fields of "energy saving and emission reduction" and "biological purification of waste gas" have been established. These standards include the current definitions, rules and recommendations of existing technologies in the field of waste gas purification in Europe.
During the visit, Professor Sabo and Professor Fischer respectively held a series of academic lectures and academic exchanges for our students. Among them, Professor Sabo lectured on the theories and technologies in the field of odor purification, including "The Status Quo of Odor Discharge from Sewage Treatment Plants in Europe and Germany", "Organic Waste Gas Pollution Treatment", etc.; Professor Fischer gave "Medical Waste Treatment in Europe and Germany" With the theme of "Current Situation" and "MSW Management in Europe and Germany", he introduced Germany's efforts and achievements in solid waste treatment, especially medical waste. In addition, Professor Sabo and Professor Fischer also visited the laboratory outside the environmental museum and conducted in-depth discussions with representatives of teachers and students, with a view to launching more cooperation in personnel training and scientific research.
