On September 18, the kick-off meeting and implementation plan demonstration meeting for the new technology project of solid waste big data mining and full life cycle control in the key city of solid waste recycling of the national Key Research and development plan led by Professor Zhao Rui of Faculty of Geosciences and Environmental Engineering of our university was successfully held in Chengdu.

The meeting was held in the form of combining online and offline activities. The meeting was chaired by Zhou Nan, vice dean of The Research Institute of Science and Technology Development of Southwest Jiaotong University.

Wang Ping, dean of The Institute of Science and Technology Development of Southwest Jiaotong University, expressed his heartfelt thanks to the leaders and experts attending the meeting on behalf of the university in his welcome speech. He also said that as a legal entity undertaking the project, he would actively supervise and manage the project to provide sufficient guarantee for the implementation of the project. At the same time, Wang Ping hoped that the project team should strictly abide by various management and financial systems during the research process, timely report the work progress to the competent departments and experts at all levels, and complete the research work of the project on time, with both quality and quantity guaranteed. Deputy researcher Yang Wei delivered a speech in place of director Zhong Ping. He congratulated the project undertaking unit and the staff participating in the research, expounded the significance of the special "solid waste resource", and emphasized the matters needing attention during the implementation of the project. He hoped that the project team could strengthen the communication with experts and promote the smooth implementation of the project.
At the subsequent demonstration meeting of the project implementation plan, Professor Zhao Rui, the project leader, reported the overall implementation plan of the project from five aspects, including the research background, research objectives, research content, research foundation and project management. The person in charge of the four projects reported the implementation plan of the project. An expert group led by Academician Wang Chao was established. After listening to the report carefully, the experts examined, inquired and discussed the project implementation plan, and agreed to adopt the plan. At the same time, the expert group fully affirmed the preliminary work of the project team, and put forward opinions and Suggestions on the implementation of the project and the subject. At last, dean Liu Guoxiang, on behalf of the college, expressed his sincere thanks to all the leaders and experts who came to guide the project, and put forward specific requirements for promoting the implementation of the project, including earnestly fulfilling responsibilities, strengthening the construction of scientific research integrity, standardizating the use of project funds, etc.
National key research and development program "solid waste recycling" key projects - "urban solid waste in whole life cycle of data mining and control of new technology" project in municipal solid waste source is wide, the number and types of the large and complex metabolic pathways, existing information technology is not enough to support the precise control of solid waste management reality, proposed by industry-university-institute cooperation pattern, break through the data fusion and knowledge driven solid waste dumps and produce source intelligent interpretation technology, large uav close monitoring and multi-source data mining solid waste quantity and component technology, urban solid waste of time and space distribution characteristics of intelligent analysis technology and the circulation of urban solid waste of time and space visualization map construction technology, research and development of urban solid waste full life cycle accurate management and control big data support platform, to achieve urban solid waste accurate monitoring, intelligent analysis and real-time monitoring, to help the construction of waste-free cities.
